You know I am late getting this video posted because our happy couple is expecting a baby. Well I am not that late they just wasted no time and we couldn't be happier for them. This wedding was held at the groom's parents house situated right on the Chesapeake Bay. What a beautiful place to have a wedding and so much effort went into planning this event. We were all putting on a happy face that day but you could tell that Amanda was missing her dad and wishing he was there. Unfortunately he had passed unexpectedly and wasn't there physically but we knew he was watching over them and smiling. Her brother did a fantastic job stepping in. It was obvious from the start that this was a celebration of family and friends and everyone was so excited about being there. The ceremony was so personal and special and was held with the beautiful Chesapeake Bay as a backdrop. Everyone enjoyed a great cocktail hour while we finished up a few pictures. All the flowers were designed by Eufloria and they really popped against the girls black dresses. Marsh Video Productions was there to capture the special event and as always working with them was fantastic. The food by Kens Creative Kitchen was delish and the band Radio City kept everyone dancing. This was the first wedding that we got to provide a photo-booth for a little added entertainment and the guests really had fun with it. Ending the evening with a spectacular fireworks display was the icing on the cake and speaking of cake Lisa Wood a family friend did a great job with that. Amanda and Bobby, we can't thank you and your families enough for trusting us with your most precious memories.
As much as Andrew and I love to travel, once in awhile it really is nice to get to do a wedding at a local venue. Niles and Mirah held their wedding and reception at Greenhill Country Club and took advantage of the beautiful views on the Wicomico River. The day was sunny and warm and Mirah was so adorable. Her dress was perfect for an outdoor wedding and she could not have been an easier bride to work with. The ceremony was extra special since the groom's dad was the officient. We got the family pictures done with the water in the background then took off on the golf carts for some special pictures of the bride and groom. The most memorable part of their reception of was inclusion of Mirah's culture. One of Mirah's best friends put on a fantastic belly dancing show. As always Greenhill did a fantastic job. Enjoy this special little video from Niles and Mirah's wedding day.
There are times when Andrew and I book weddings and we don't even get to the meet with the bride and groom ahead of time and this was one of them. All they had to go on was Lighthouse Sound’s recommendation and a phone conversation. I started talking to Laura's mom and her excitement was contagious. I didn't have to meet Laura to know that she was going to be an awesome person and that Scott was so special to them. That is a photographer's dream to have a parent that seems so happy that their daughter is marrying this person and so complimentary about the two families joining together. After talking to Laura and Scott it was decided that they wanted to do all their portraits before the wedding so that they could get right to enjoying the party. We never insist that a couple do that but, no matter what they decide we try to make it a special first meeting. Well Mother Nature had a different plan that day. It rained and all we could do was go with the flow and hope that eventually the rain subsided. We changed plans a bit and did the bride and groom separately because we could get many of the pictures done under cover and in smaller groups. It was so important to us that we not give up on doing their pictures outside. Our prayers were answered and after the ceremony the rain stopped and we ended up doing all their portraits after the ceremony. They ended up being happy they didn't see each other. We had such a great day with this couple and their families. We also got to spend the day with one of our favorite videographer's Phyllis and Case of Marsh Video Productions. It is always a pleasure working with them. During the meal we all got to enjoy really cool montage that put together by a family member. Everything about this day was so well done. The flowers provide from Ocean Greenery, the cake provide by Marry Cakes by the Sea, and the music by Real Genius. Of course like any other photographer we all dream about getting the opportunity to do a destination wedding so when the Wachtel Family said we were going to Jamaica we were thrilled. We had already been to Cabo San Lucas so we knew exactly what to expect. Party!!! Just kidding it really is a lot of work but this family has been so special to us that we knew it would be so much fun. It is a rare occasion when we get to bring our girls along with us when we work but the family insisted and it was one of the best work/vacations we have ever had. The great thing about bringing your photographer with you is that we go out of our way to photograph every event. Not only do we shoot the family lounging and playing by the pool but we get a pre photoshoot of the couple, the rehearsal, family pics and the wedding. I think most couples would be a little disappointed with resort photography when they see a comparison. There were so many special things about this wedding. Of course all the families are fantastic. We knew that before we got there. The food was great and the surroundings were beautiful. I think I was most surprised at how personalized the ceremony was. There were many times when I shed a little tear and laughed, like when dad gave his speech and this is his last little girl of 3 to get married. Then he put on his Rasta wig and we all laughed. Jason the groom, had written the song for their first dance and it was amazing. To top the night off the groom challenged Andrew to a white-boy dance off. Somehow I ended up flat on my back on the dance floor and my husband won the challenge. I can't thank this family enough for trusting us with all their family pictures and daughters weddings. Here is a fun little video of how our week was spent and the background music was provided by the groom. Enjoy!
This wedding was a local treat. When we first arrived we got to see our favorite hair stylist Bobbie Jean from Designers Edge Studios and as always she made our bride look gorgeous that day. Stephanie got ready at the Marriott in Ocean City, MD. What a great hotel to get ready. Perfect natural light pours through the doors and we were able to actually knock out some portraits before the ceremony right in the room. Stephanie wanted her adorable little dog to be in the ceremony so she was there to get some pics as well. Having a ceremony on the beach right off the boardwalk is a little crazy because it is hard to tell who is an invited guest and who is just checking out what is going on but it makes for some interesting pictures. My favorite part of the day is always when we get the bride and groom alone and you get to see them being themselves. We did some photos on the beach and then headed over to the Ocean Pines Yacht Club. This wedding party had one goal and that was to party! Phyllis Marsh of Marsh Video Productions was there to capture the whole day on video and as always it was a pleasure to work with them. It was so great to spend the day with this family. Enjoy!
Our day began with Mallory and her girls getting ready at her Uncle Wade's house on the water in Crisfield, Md. It is a beautiful spot and we were familiar with it since Mallory's friend Jennifer Monk had gotten married there a few years before and we had the pleasure of doing her wedding as well. Everyone seemed really excited when we arrived and I had joked about Mallory getting the "Most Excited Bride Award" of the year. I think every week I had some communication with her about the wedding and it was refreshing to see someone excited instead of overwhelmed. After taking some pictures at the house with a bunch of crazy girls we headed over to the Eastern Shore Evangelistic Church. This is a really cute little church with the best minister in the world. All he cares about is that we get good pictures. Love him! The ceremony was beautiful. I can't say enough about these two families. We were treated that day like we were part of their family. Mallory's dad kept telling us how appreciative he was and how he had no idea how much work actually went into photographing a wedding. The reception was held at the Crisfield Elks Lodge and as always they provided the best home cooked meal. Country Creations did all the flowers, as always Cake Art made a beautiful cake and Dj Adam Riggin did an awesome job keeping everyone on the dance floor. To both families we want to say "Thank You." You made our job so easy that day.
This wedding was very special to us since we have known Alyssa and her sister from the years that our oldest took gymnastics. We are always thrilled to work at Heritage Shores in Bridgeville, Delaware. The grounds are absolutely gorgeous and the staff is outstanding to work with. It could not have been a more beautiful day for an outdoor ceremony and Ocean Greenery did a great job with the floral decor. Steve Moody (aka Buttons) was our DJ for the event and as always was fantastic to work with. Alyssa was absolutely stunning in her strapless dress and game for anything. Enjoy the video that we put together from this special event and thanks to both families for allowing us to share in your special day.
