Heather and Roger/The Inn at Perry Cabin Photographer

I must say this was a first for Kim and I. We got a phone call from Heather wondering if we were available to photograph her wedding at The Inn at Perry Cabin in St Michaels, MD.  To our surprise it was the following Thursday and she and her fiancé Roger were planning to elope. I am always hesitant when we have never met the bride and groom before, but as soon as we met them for the getting ready pictures we knew it was going to be good. Since it was just the two of them Heather didn’t have anyone to help her into her dress so Kim jumped right in. What started out to be just a simple little occasion, turned into something very special.  Her dress was just gorgeous and Heather and Roger went all out by hiring Phyllis and Case Marsh of Phyllis Marsh Productions  to video the event. The ceremony on the grounds overlooking the water at The Inn at Perry Cabin was really beautiful and a violinist played during the ceremony. Of course their two puppies were there to witness the event. They even did a first dance and cake cutting and then we strolled around the grounds taking pictures. When we were done Heather and Roger invited us and the videographer  to have cake and coffee. We stayed for awhile just chatting away. It was really a great time. Best wishes to the two of you. Thanks for sharing your special day with us.

Kasey and Brent/Maternity Portraits

Kim and I couldn't be happier for this couple. In March of 2009 we photographed Kasey and Brent's wedding and since then we have spent a lot of time with them and their families. We have done more weddings, baby pictures, and family portraits and have come to think of them as more than just clients. We can't wait to meet little Kylee. We know that the two of you are going to make awesome parents. Brent better get all that gaming in now because his time will be better spent soon. Thanks so much for sharing your special moments with us. We love you guys. Here we go again Grandma Debbie!  If you give Kasey and Brent 20 comments we will give them a free 8 x 10.

Julie and Brandon/Destination Wedding

When Julie and Brandon walked into our studio to talk to us about their upcoming wedding we knew right away we hit it off. We had already done several of their friends weddings and they were all a blast. The best part was getting the news that their wedding was in Cabo San Lucas...yeah! After ironing out all the details, December could not get here fast enough. As soon as we got to our resort we headed for the pool to find Julie and Brandon. What we found was an incredible group of friends and family. We have never felt so appreciated in our lives and were immediately pulled into this group and treated like we were part of their family. Many of Julie and Brandon's friends work with them at Fish Tales in Ocean City so it was like one big party. We had a couple of days to hang out by the pool before we had to really get down to work. Well, I guess you could call it that. We started with some fun shots the night of the rehearsal at Casa Dorada. Even though we had already done their engagement sitting we thought it would be nice to give them some alone time and us the opportunity to scout out all the places we would shoot for the wedding. As soon as we got done with their portraits the wedding party and parents starting arriving. I think I took about 2 or 3 pictures when my camera did something really strange. I took the lens off to take a look and my mirror flew about 3 feet out of my camera. My first reaction was shear panic and then my wife reminded me of all the backup cameras I brought. Lol! Once we did a quick rehearsal it was time to party! Everyone enjoyed a fantastic dinner on the beach and then back to partying at the Riu Santa Fe. Finally the day of the wedding had arrived and we meet all the girls in Julie's room. To our surprise the girls were ready 45 mins early. This is a wedding photographer's dream. After getting some fantastic getting ready shots we took the girls all over the resort. They were game for anything. The guys met us in a bar just outside of Casa Dorada and of course they were a blast as well. As you can see in the video we gave them free reign to do something funny and boy did they run with it. Julie and Brandon planned the wedding at just the right time of day so that afterwards we would be shooting them in the best possible light. Even though this is really important to us and something every professional photographer should be doing I have to say sadly it is something that has become a thing of the past and so disappointing when people confuse washed out over exposed images as artistic. (Sorry, just one of my pet peeves) The reception was fantastic, great food, great drinks, great music and great people. It went by so fast so they ended up moving the party back to the Riu afterwards. Our resort just happened to be across from one of the coolest spots. (Lover's Beach) The next day before sunset we headed over for one last photo-shoot and got some amazing pics. We are so glad to have had the experience and so glad to have met Julie and Brandon and all their friends and family. Thanks guys!

Welcome to our new blog!

Kim and I are so excited about 2011! We are starting out the year with a bang! We did a recent remodel to the studio, added a really cool album to our collections and now we are launching a brand new website and blog. Some may shy away from change but Kim and I embrace it. We have some fantastic families and couples we are going to be working with this year and can't wait to experience what is in store for us. One thing that will not change is our committment to excellence. We are not interested in producing the same thing you can get somewhere else. We insist on shooting in the best possible light and won't sacrifice that just to get  a job. That is how you create award-winning images. I was honored to be awarded Delaware's wedding/candid photographer of the year  for 2009 and 2010. We would love for you to join us.

Andrew
